About Tony Newsom, Police Officer & Author of Student Safety Tips

Why is Internet Safety Important - Ideals of Activities on Stranger Danger

Tony Newsom has more than 30 years experience in keeping men, women & students safe. After joining the Los Angeles Police Department in 1989, Tony quickly discovered that many students became victims to crimes strictly due to their lack of knowledge of the crimes that were targeted to students their age, particularly those who were transitioning to elementary, middle, high school and college.

Additionally, with the Internet emerging on the scene, and hundreds of thousands on predators traveling on it day and night, disguising themselves as young children and teenagers motivated Tony to take action.

Tony then began to implement customized safety programs into schools thoughout Los Angeles County.

He gained plenty of recognition from political figures, the media, his superiors in the Los Angeles Police Department, educators throughout the United States. and celebrities such as motivational speaker Anthony Robbins.

Matter of fact in 1993, Tony was Named Young Public Safety Officer of the Year by the California Junior Chamber of Commerce.  After writing and circulating his Student Safety material into schools throughout the United States, Anthony Robbins featured Tony Newsom's quest for building safer schools twice, in his monthly magazine entitled The Next Level.

As a very impacting motivational speaker in schools and colleges, Tony used some of the same techniques and stories in his books that has successfully helped tens of thousands of students to grasp the need to wise decisions. All of his books are interactive and has an enclosed book review that can also be used for students to possibly gain extra credit.

When asked, Michael D. Antonovich, Mayor of Los Angeles County said, "What is most compelling about Tony Newsom's Student Safety Tips books is the proactive approach to safety, and the ability to communicate to audiences of all ages. Each book swiftly illustrates the dangers and false perception that many people have about safety while simultaneously teaching day to day life practices that can keep students safe."

As you read the books, you will find yourself riveted and glued to the pages of his books as he sits down with convicted criminals who candidly share real life stories including exactly how they think, act, and pursue victims.

Newsom shares with his readers the same safety and crime prevention techniques that law enforcement officers learn through years of training and first-hand front-line experience.

Student Safety Books: Newsom believes there’s no such thing as too much information when it comes to protecting women & youth. He hopes that one school at a time, with his Student Safety Tips Series, he can educate and empower teachers, parents and students to avoid danger.
